The Speech that Set Me Free

I wish I could tag every single person who supported me, prayed for me, or reached out to ask if I needed anything over these past few days. Truly, I am overwhelmed — not just by the Power of God, but by the power of community.

This past Saturday on April 26th, I stood on a stage and gave a speech that wasn’t easy to deliver. In fact, leading up to it, I found myself questioning God.

"Are you sure you want me to talk about childhood trauma?"
"Are you sure you want me to talk about sexual abuse?"
"Are you sure you want me to say the name of Jesus?"

Each time, the answer came clearly and firmly: Yes.

I realized that my freedom was never meant for me alone. It was meant to set others free too.

In obedience and through God’s strength, I shared my story — and to my amazement, I won the District 8 Toastmasters International Speech Contest.

But make no mistake: the real victory wasn’t the trophy. The real victory was standing in freedom. Speaking the truth. Breaking the silence. And offering hope to others who have been told to "just move on."

This message — my story — is not about blame or shame. I hold no bitterness. I deeply love my family, and I dearly love the parents God chose for me. I place blame only where it belongs — on the enemy of our souls, the devil, and the brokenness caused by the fall of humanity.

This speech was dedicated to every person who has ever been bullied by the devil into silence.
To those who were told:

"Just get over it."
"It’s in the past."
"Move on."

No.
I won’t just move on.

Instead, I’m telling the devil: Move over.

It’s time for our voices to rise. It’s time for our stories to be heard. There is hope. There is healing. There is freedom from childhood trauma.
